Walker Family

Dear PJH Friends,

Our baby girl was diagnosed with CDH when I was 20 weeks pregnant. In San Antonio, the doctors were not confident and didn’t have a lot of information about the diagnosis. We were told an 80-90% mortality rate.

Our options were to relocate to Houston or take the chance and deliver in San Antonio. We have no friends or family in Houston, we were trying to maintain our jobs, needed to find care back home for our fur babies, my husband is in school, and we have a 1 year old. Not an easy move and although not far from home, it can get pretty lonely when your loved ones aren’t close.

This is especially true during the holidays. We were here for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas and Project Joy and Hope became our friends and family we didn’t have. They made everything so warm and welcoming for our family. They always made sure we were taken care of and truly brought our family a Christmas we will never forget.

We are so thankful to have been a part of this organization with such caring and amazing people. We now have an extended family we will never forget.

With gratitude,

Jennifer Walker and Family
