Family Assistance Grant
Supporting Families Through Life’s Toughest Journeys
Project Joy and Hope provides compassionate support to families across Texas whose children are receiving treatment for serious illnesses or require pediatric palliative care services. Through our Family Assistance Fund, we help ease the financial burdens that often accompany a child's medical journey by covering essential "real-life" expenses that are not typically addressed by insurance or other assistance programs. We do not cover funeral expenses.
To qualify, children must be ages birth through age 22 and actively receiving treatment at the Texas Medical Center. Priority consideration is given to families whose children are undergoing cancer treatment, bone marrow transplantation, solid organ transplantation, cardiac treatment, or pediatric palliative care services.
Eligible families may receive support for hospital parking fees, meals during treatment, rent or mortgage payments, utility bills, transportation costs, and other critical household expenses. By helping families meet these everyday needs, we allow parents to focus on what matters most—caring for their child and spending precious time together.
