Dear Dr. Wheeler and Project Joy and Hope Team,
I want to express to you the gratitude my mother, my daughter and I have for the amazing service Project Joy and Hope has offered my family. We have been away from our home for now 6 months. Four of those six months were spend in the hospital where Camila went through various procedures and induced comas. It has been difficult dealing with Camila’s illness and drastic medical changes far from our family and support group and evermore so during COVID times.
From the first day we arrived at Project Joy and Hope we have felt it is our home away from home. It’s been the change we needed, a welcome feeling of having our own space while caring for my daughter until it’s time to go back home to San Antonio. You and your organization have been a blessing during these difficult times. It has allowed us to continue with Camila’s medical treatment while staying close to her Houston Medical Team and making it possible for our family to visit us and support us through this journey.
This complex brings so much tranquility, comfort and guidance to my family. Thank you for all you do, for the support you provide to families like ours. We are eternally grateful to you and your team.
