Rivera & McMurphy Family

When we began Ezra’s bone marrow journey for his rare disease, we were overwhelmed by the fear of the unknown. We didn’t know where this path would take us, but we prayed for the best possible outcome. After his first transplant, we arrived at Project Joy and Hope in September and from the moment we walked through their doors, we were welcomed with warmth and compassion that truly understood the struggles our family was facing.

Since August, our family has been split in two, but everyone at Project Joy and Hope has become like a second family to us, providing comfort and understanding during what can feel like an incredibly lonely journey. We’ve spent all the winter holidays here, far from our home, and yet they made every single one of them special. Thanks to the constant support of PJ&H, their friends, and their supporters, we’ve been able to celebrate with peace of mind while navigating life in and out of the hospital with Ezra.

They took care of us, big and small, so I could focus solely on caring for our sweet baby boy. I thank God every day for leading us here, to these beautiful homes and the incredible hearts of everyone at Project Joy and Hope. Their kindness and love have been an immeasurable blessing during this journey.

With so much love and appreciation,
The Rivera and McMurphy Family
